Cindy Lee

I am so very happy to be a part of New Song Church, and am looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you. I am an Ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church; please feel free to call me Cindy Lee or Reverend Cindy Lee (I am comfortable with either!) Quite simply, I am here because of God’s plan. I want to know of your questions and desires to learn more about your faith in God. Discipleship is a lifelong process. I understand that to mean that my learning is never finished. Even if it something that I have read and studied before, God always manages to surprise me with something that I had not thought of or understood before. My life experience, my worship of God and my devotional life all give me an ever-changing lens to into my understanding of God’s unchanging love for me. I always knew that God was with me at all times through the people that God put in my life. I grew up in Blackstone and was involved in worship and the activities at Crenshaw UMC. I had teachers and mentors all along the way. All of the people, ministries such as the Wesley Foundation at Virginia Tech, the churches I have attended and served, as well as the Walk to Emmausmade an incredible impression on me. This has become a passion for me as well. I want to walk along with people in their faith journey, just as God provided for me. I enjoy singing, baking, sewing, travel and college football. I have the awesome experience of singing in the Richmond Symphony Chorus for the past 19 years. I love to sew which explains my BS in Clothing, Textiles and Related Arts – Extension and Secondary Education. I love to travel and see new places as well as re-visit the mountains and beaches of Virginia and North Carolina. My goal is to eat a meal in every state and at this point I have 29 more to go. I love to bake cakes, pies and cookies. I am always bake and take cookies to the tailgate events at Blacksburg. Yes, I do enjoy rooting for my Virginia Tech Hokies, no matter what the outcome might be. I have two sisters and their families that live on the Southside of Richmond. I am very blessed to have their love and support. I also have many friends that I consider chosen family. I also have 2 cats, Mavis and Mevin, to keep me company at home. I am delighted to be here at New Song to be in ministry with you. God has some awesome things planned, just as God always does! God is good, all the time. And all the time, God is good.
