Mona Reed
Hello, New Song!
I am Mona Reed and along with my husband, Bill and our three daughters, we have been attending New Song since September 1997.
Currently, I teach the preschool class at what used to be the 10:30 service. I originally was in the infant nursery hugging and loving those babies. Teaching and showing the children the love of Jesus is the highlight of my week! One of my very first infants, Melissa Leonard, is now my assistant in the preschool class and she is graduating high school this year!
In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking, playing pickleball and making my own greeting cards. I love my volunteer job at CHOR NICU as an infant cuddler and with the beautiful children at CHOR on Brook Rd. I also volunteer with Meals on Wheels. I love time spent with my family, whether it be my husband and children in Virginia, my many family members in Ohio, or my husband’s family in Vermont.
I’m looking forward to New Song opening its doors completely and all my little ones back in my class.
I am, also, a regular blood donator. When my second child was born, I had to be given two units of blood. You don’t realize how important blood donating is until you are on the receiving end of it! Currently, I have given over 21 units. It really is a simple process that could ultimately save a life. Be someone’s hero!

Blood Donation Fact...
Mona is Type A positive, which is about 30% of the population and a type that is needed by many patients. A person who is A positive (A+) can receive blood from the following blood types: A+, A-, O+, O-. Those who donate A+ blood can also donate to others who are A+ and AB+ blood types.
Judy Kellogg
My husband Jim and I have been going to New Song for around 4 years. Both of us were greeters, before Covid. I am part of the “Take Them A Meal” program plus I have a passion for the Backpack program. I am learning how to apply for grants and my first one we got was $2000 for the Backpack program. I belong to a wonderful small group and am part of the Employee appreciation group that Gina Sykes heads up for the employees at New Song. I am also repairing gowns for the Princess project at church that loans gowns to girls for prom.
I donate blood every time I can.
I have never needed blood but I feel it is something I can give that cannot be replaced with money or anything else. God gave me this for sharing and knowing that it will help someone down the line sure makes it worth giving.
I like wondering who the blood will go to and help. I look forward to the email, from the Red Cross, that tells me where my donation has gone.
The last two times it went to Pennsylvania.
It is so cool to help someone with something as precious as blood.
