Latest Updates
After careful review and given the drastic decline in positive cases, hospitalizations, deaths, and severity of Covid-19 in its current state, masking has shifted to RECOMMENDED/OPTIONAL on March 13, 2022.
In making masks optional, it becomes paramount to re-emphasize:
This date of March 13, 2022 coincides with the 2-year anniversary of our original pandemic shut-down and represents a shift in our approach from pandemic to endemic measures. Endemic does not mean our guard can be lowered. Instead, endemic measures translate to a phase where we learn to continue to protect the most vulnerable in our population and implement common sense measures for the health and safety of all parts of the church.
Like everyone, we are exhausted from Covid-19. We pray for to God to guide our decisions and to end this pandemic. In the interim, we will continue to diligently monitor conditions, solicit feedback, and make the very best decisions we can for our church.
(A return to masking would become warranted if a surge or spike in the numbers occurs.)
In making masks optional, it becomes paramount to re-emphasize:
- If symptomatic, to stay home and seek appropriate medical attention.
- If high-risk, take appropriate measures to guard your health. This may include sitting in our newly-arranged 4th section, located far left when entering the worship center. In this section:
- Chairs will be spaced to allow for social distancing
- Mask requirement will be in place for this section per signage
- Ventilation will include the opening of the back door and frequent air- return cycling through the HVAC system
- Food provisions will be allowed on premises where social distancing can be maintained. If social distancing cannot be maintained, food will continue to be allowed in an outdoor setting, such as the pavilion.
- Children/Youth: masks are recommended, but optional, for teachers and students.

After careful review, all guests over 36-months of age are to wear masks while at New Song facilities for indoor events beginning Sunday, September 12. This is regardless of vaccination status as variants have presented new challenges in mitigation efforts.
Each week, masks will be evaluated in light of the impact from reopened schools, virus strains, and other concerns.
This temporary step is but one way we can ensure we are doing our part to keep the community safe.
