Within our faith, we find making a decision for Jesus is the single-most important decision a person can make. Saying ‘yes’ to Christ is the expression of our relationship with him as the Lord of our life. Jesus knew of our bent towards sin; we always have an option away from doing the wrong thing, but it’s not always the case that we’ll take God up on such an opportunity. Jesus didn’t want to leave us in the pit of our own sin - Jesus had it in mind to give us a life that would last forever. The church calls this forever life “eternity” – the promise of salvation that comes through a solid, obedient, relationship with Jesus. This life is marked by tons of grace and forgiveness, along with generosity of spirit. To say you are a Christ-follower isn’t just something you mark on a census form; it’s who you are to the core of your being… it’s who you become.
God’s Word says this in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” Jesus isn’t trying to cheat you out of fun or rob you of your best life now. In fact, Jesus is inviting you to the life-changing and
awe-inspiring realities that come with a relationship to accountability, humility, service, worship, and discipleship. From the very beginning of time, you were not a secret to God. At no point have we surprised God with our decisions, actions, successes, or mistakes. John’s Gospel captures this concept: “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.” (John 3:16, TM)
At New Song, we understand that the church belongs to God, first, and that the church is ‘the Body of Christ.’ As Christ’s Body, we are called to do God’s will and be the physical presence of Christ in the world. We have much to accomplish – not for fame’s or gratitude’s sake, but for the work God has set out to be accomplished.
Jesus invites us to no longer feel lost and alone, but found by God. As one author put it, “It's to know that after feeling worthless, we've been redeemed” – but not by our initiatives, it’s by God’s. Salvation through Christ is a gracious gift from above. It’s God’s love that knows all our faults and failures, and still embraces us right here, right now. The hardest part of stepping into a relationship with Christ is knowing that the heaviest lifting has already been done by the One who knows us best… that we can have faith in a God who loves us, despite us. We have to trust that “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8) – not because WE were perfect, but exactly the opposite: because we’ll NEVER be perfect on our own!

God does what God promises; God says what God means. God loves you: it may be hard to believe, but it’s true! Through faith in Christ, we believe that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13) When we turn away from all that has separated us from where God is, we begin seeing what Jesus meant when he said, “You must be born again.” (John 3:7) This ‘new life in Christ’ is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Having this ‘new life’ doesn’t mean we’ll never sin again or mess up; but it does mean our hearts will always know our spiritual home where we find refuge, guidance and hope. There, we’re called to hear the direction of what Jesus said, “Go and sin no more” (John 8:11). From there, we continue to learn in faith about God and how to be more Christ-like.
We believe the goal of the Christian life is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself. We value passionate worship, relevant preaching, small groups to hold Christians accountable to one another, and serving those who are in need.
