PHASE II EXPANSION: Ministries + Facilities
“Let your eyes look directly FORWARD,
and set your eyes on what lies before you.”
(Proverbs 4:25)
and set your eyes on what lies before you.”
(Proverbs 4:25)
Over the years New Song has continued to grow our ministries to serve the community (and world) in faith. This time has been filled with twists and turns, some expected and some not – but God’s people have remained dedicated to the mission throughout. We have grown in membership, missions, and financial giving since our launch in 1997. This has been an incredible journey; God is not through with transforming dreams into reality.
Our leadership has prayerfully taken a hard look at our ministries, needs, and what it would take to move New Song to the next level and discerned that the time to grow is now. We invite you to grow and move "FORWARD" with us in our expansion and creation of our "One Fund".
Many of our members may be surprised to know that we have had as many as 93 designated accounts over the years. We “house” significant, difference-making funds in our larger checking account that, sadly, never get used because of how restrictive the designation was at the time the donation was made. We feel there is a better way.
In the One Fund, we will be able to take these scattered pieces and pull them together in a coherent, thoughtful way. Essentially, a One Fund is a 2-year Ministry Plan that accounts for the church’s ministries, missions, special initiatives, and events. We also include contingencies in each area for those unforeseen questions. Nothing we have supported to date will end up being decreased in its funding.

Be on the lookout for certain areas we hope to "bring to life" soon and very soon!
These pieces of the puzzle are currently being developed by our leadership teams:
1). a way to provide more room for our Children's Ministry to expand; in this drawing, you can see where the Children's "Box" will be almost identical to the "Youth Box" we currently have (by way of space) at the end of the long hallway.
2). a way to allow for greater accessibility into our facilities and room for our First Impressions ministries: a tiny lobby + many people creates a cramped, unwelcoming environment. An expanded lobby area will begin to relieve over-crowding.
3). a way to afford more parking places within close proximity to entrances.
4). a way to provide more restrooms.
5). a way to create a safer, secured hallway for our Children's Wing.
6). a way to have room for our staff to expand and have work stations, together.

From Google Earth, we begin to see part of our 20 acres with new shapes and colors of space!
We celebrate the completion of the Pavilion (in green), and look forward to being able to demonstrate new parking, room for Children's ministries, lobby space, restrooms, and offices!
All of this fits neatly under "facilities," but we are also re-imagining the ways in which we fill this space as a hub of hope for all. There will be new ways to engage via technology, in-person opportunities, ministries for all ages, missions, community outreach, indoor/outdoor/hybrid services, etc. One thing the pandemic has taught us: flexibility and adaptability are bigger parts of our future than we ever thought possible!

Design on a Dime...
At a meeting held in Ben Branson's garage (no seriously: that's how it happened!), our Design Team began drawing sketches in order to take to our architect as the dream began to unfold. We held Focus Group meetings to explore various configurations of space, and before long, we were able to meet with the full Church Leadership. After receiving approval from our Executive Ministry Team, we were able to meet with our architect and begin the process towards final design. This sketch has grown quite a bit from just markers and pencils, but what you see is the culmination of many prayers and efforts from our ministry leaders and staff! The District approval process continues, as does the finalization of paperwork towards the loan, the Generosity Campaign, and our work with various contracts and vendors. Prayers continue!
