In our community right now, there are many families who do not have the chance to worship due to having someone who is in their home living with special needs. New Song's Special Needs Ministry gives parents the opportunity to worship and participate in small groups while their child is safe, cared for and allowed to experience Christ in meaningful ways.
From Autism, physical concerns, and any number of other exceptionalities, our Special Needs Team is here to help identify and address the needs of those who come to New Song.
Our first step is a registration form, and then an in-person assessment with one of our Special Needs Team Leaders. From there, we figure out an action plan and work to meet the needs of the child or youth so that the parent(s) can worship and not be worried for their child’s needs.
Training is held with each family and the care partners, along with quarterly sessions in order to make all parts of the system aware of any updates or changes that have occurred since the initial training.
Our coordinators are always on the lookout for additional ‘Buddies’ and volunteers, so if you have any interest in this opportunity, or if you have any questions for our Special Needs Team, please contact us. Thank you!
